Line Series

The Line Series pieces are hand blown and hand formed. The drawings are done directly on the layers of glass.  . They are made using a white opaque glass and again are done by hand, utilizing two different techniques. First, a small amount of molten white glass is gathered from another furnace. While still very hot, the lines are stretched around the piece to create a unique drawing. To further enhance the drawing, thin rods (about the size of a pencil lead) of white glass are pulled and allowed to cool. These rods can then be heated, using a torch, onto the pieces in the form of dots or shorter lines. After the first set of drawings is complete, another layer of crystal is gathered around the piece, encasing the lines--creating depth. The second set of lines is then repeated on the exterior of the piece to match the first set. This allows for space or depth between the drawings.
